JOB DESCRIPTION
Welcome to Elin Wägnerskolan - a secondary school in central Växjö! We are now looking for a teacher in home economics to start in August. Is that you?
The school is characterized by value-creating and interdisciplinary working methods that include both interdisciplinary planning and teaching, close contact with the outside world, and an entrepreneurial approach where students' learning should benefit others. The goal is to educate competent, ambitious, and engaged citizens with critical thinking and action skills. The operation is based on collegial cooperation and shared learning situations to create an environment where everyone works towards the same goal - the best for the students. The school has dedicated and competent staff, a well-functioning student health service, and a strong focus on language development work. The organization consists of subject teams, work teams, a management group, and five lead teachers.
With us, you will work in a team around 4-5 classes, and the position may also include mentorship together with a mentor colleague in the team.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a teaching license qualified to teach home economics for grades 6-9. We prefer that you have previous teaching experience. You have good collaboration skills and are relationship-building.
Alternatively, you who are studying to become a teacher or have experience working in the teaching profession may also be considered for employment. However, a teaching license is required for permanent employment as a teacher.
In addition to subject knowledge, we hope that:
- You want to teach interdisciplinary together with a group of colleagues, focusing on working together with and through our environment.
- You have the ability to create a good working atmosphere with engagement, curiosity, and safety with both students and colleagues, and you will receive that back.
- You have the ability to meet students' different needs by listening to students, discussing with colleagues, and shaping your teaching based on success factors for teaching, in dialogue with colleagues and based on students' interests and influence.
- You are brave and want to develop and continue learning together with others.
- You want to work in a team and contribute to the development of the operation based on the school's development work, your own experiences, and research.
